ECHAM6 T255L199 tuning experiments description (gravity waves)¶

In experiment ifa0022 parameters for orographic gravity wave drag calculations were set to

• gkdrag = 0.2
• gkwake = 0.2

The model was integrated for two years from January 1978 to December 1979.

In experiment ifa0023 Hines "Doppler-spread" gravity wave parametrization was switched off (lextro=.FALSE.). All other parameters were kept as in ifa0022. Due to severe stability issues the model could be integrated for 5 months only: from January 1978 to May 1978.
